Question 1

What types of translations do you offer?

Accepted Answer

We offer certified translations for visa applications, SENESCYT degree recognition, legal proceedings, medical records, business documents, and apostille services. We translate between English and Spanish in both directions.

Question 2

Are your translations accepted by Ecuador government agencies?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our translations are prepared with the certification statement and formatting that Ecuador's immigration office (Cancilleria), SENESCYT, courts, notaries, the SRI, and banks look for. If the specific office you're submitting to has unusual requirements, tell us up front and we'll format to match.

Question 3

Do you translate from Spanish to English as well?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We translate in both directions — English to Spanish (for documents you're bringing to Ecuador) and Spanish to English (for Ecuador documents you need in the US or for English-speaking institutions).

Question 4

Do I need to be in Ecuador to use your services?

Accepted Answer

No. Many of our clients start the process from the United States or other countries. You can send digital copies of your documents, and we deliver certified translations electronically. We serve clients worldwide.

Question 5

How much do translations cost?

Accepted Answer

Routine 1-2 page documents start at $125. Standard 3-6 page packets are $150, longer 7-10 page documents are $175, and 11+ page or complex files are quoted after review. Standard pricing includes certified translation. Translation by an Ecuador judiciary-licensed Perito translator costs extra and is quoted separately. Notarization is not included.

Question 6

Do you offer discounts for multiple documents?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Orders of 3 or more documents automatically save $10 per priced document at checkout.

Question 7

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept all major credit cards through Stripe. Payment is due at checkout, with delivery within 3 business days.

Question 8

Is there a fee for quotes?

Accepted Answer

No. Short routine documents can be priced instantly online. Longer or complex files are reviewed first, and we send a written quote before payment.

Question 9

How long does a translation take?

Accepted Answer

Standard certified translation orders are delivered within 3 business days. Perito translation timing is confirmed in the separate quote. No rush tiers or variable timelines — upload your documents, pay, and you'll have certified translations back in 3 business days.

Question 10

What's the process for getting a translation?

Accepted Answer

It's simple: (1) Go to our Order page and select your document types and page-count tiers, (2) Upload scans or photos of your documents, (3) Pay securely with Stripe, (4) We deliver certified translations digitally (PDF) within 3 business days.

Question 11

What file formats do you accept?

Accepted Answer

PDF, JPG, PNG, or WebP — up to 20 MB per file. Clear scans or photos of the complete document work best.

Question 12

Do you offer revisions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every translation includes one round of revisions at no additional cost. If a government agency requests specific changes, we'll update the translation at no charge.

Question 13

What's the difference between certified and notarized translations?

Accepted Answer

A certified translation includes the translator's signed statement of accuracy and completeness. Notarization is a separate notarial procedure and is not included in our service. Translation by an Ecuador judiciary-licensed Perito translator is also separate from standard certification and costs extra; request a quote before ordering.

Question 14

What is an apostille and do I need one?

Accepted Answer

An apostille is an international certification that authenticates a document for use in another country under the Hague Convention. Ecuador requires apostilled documents for most visa, legal, and SENESCYT processes. If your document was issued in the US, it needs a US apostille before it can be used in Ecuador.

Question 15

Can you help me get an apostille for my US documents?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer a complete apostille + translation package. We handle obtaining the US apostille from the appropriate Secretary of State and then provide the certified Spanish translation — all as one seamless service.

Question 16

How long does the apostille process take?

Accepted Answer

Standard apostille processing through a US Secretary of State takes 2-4 weeks. Expedited processing (1-2 weeks) is available in most states for an additional fee. Federal documents (like FBI background checks) go through the US Department of State.

Question 17

Which documents need to be translated for an Ecuador visa?

Accepted Answer

Common documents include birth certificates, marriage certificates, police/FBI background checks, bank statements, pension/income letters, and health insurance policies. The exact requirements depend on your visa type (professional, investor, retiree, dependent, etc.).

Question 18

Can you help with the visa application too?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Through our sister site EcuaPass.com, we offer complete Ecuador visa application services. Bundle your visa application with translations for a seamless experience.

Question 19

What documents does SENESCYT require for degree recognition?

Accepted Answer

SENESCYT typically requires apostilled and translated copies of your diploma, official transcripts, and sometimes course descriptions or syllabi. Requirements vary by degree level and field of study.

Question 20

Do you work with ecuadorsenescyt.com for SENESCYT services?
